Update About Your Email Service

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our free email server, effective June 30, 2025 (residential) and December 31, 2025 (business). We understand this may cause some inconvenience, and we are here to support you through this transition.

Why the change?

Maintaining and upgrading email server infrastructure has become increasingly complex and costly. The major free email providers are able to provide a combination of both more features and storage space than a small ISP like Arriva. To continue providing top-quality broadband and telecommunications services, we are shifting our focus and resources to better serve our community.

What does this mean for you?
Email address domains affected:

Service End Date:

  • June 30, 2025 (residential)
  • December 31, 2025 (business)
Access to Existing Emails: You will retain access to your email account until the dates listed above. After this date, the server will no longer be accessible.

Next Steps

1. Set up a new email address

We recommend transitioning to a free email provider such as Gmail or Outlook. Follow the links below, or see the FAQs at the bottom of this page for more information on how to set these up.  For step-by-step instructions, visit the Gmail Setup Guide or Outlook Setup Guide or iCloud Setup Guide

2. Update your contacts

Notify friends, family, and business associates about your new email address. Don’t forget to update your information with commonly used services, such as:
    • Utility providers (electricity, water, gas)
    • Financial institutions (banks, credit unions, credit card companies)
    • Subscription services (streaming platforms, magazines, deliveries)
    • Online accounts (shopping sites, social media, cloud storage)
    • Medical providers and insurance companies
    • Schools, universities, and childcare providers
    • Government agencies (tax authorities, Social Security, DMV)
    • Employers and payroll systems
    • Memberships and rewards programs
We recommend sending an email to all of your contacts from your new email address and asking them to delete your old email address from their contact list. It may be prudent to send this email several times before June 30, 2025.

3. Forward important messages

Transfer any critical emails or information to your new email service prior to the shut down date by forwarding them from your existing Arriva account.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I download my contacts list/address book?
Exporting your Address Book contacts from Arriva’s email service is quick and easy.

From http://mail.nexband.com/, login to your account, and click “Addresses”.

Click “Export”.

A window will appear. Click “Export to CSV file”.

Once the download has completed, you can upload your file to the email host of your choice.

The major free email providers are able to provide a combination of more features and storage space than an Internet Service Provider like Arriva. Also, their junk mail filtering and antimalware filtering has the benefit of being fine-tuned and improved based on millions of users’ inbound spam and malware.

Every email app is different and there are several out there, making it impractical to try to describe how to use every one of them.  Most of the time, you will be able to find information on your particular app by searching on the app’s support site, or unofficially on YouTube or Reddit.  Once you’ve migrated your emails away from neXband.com over to another provider and verified that the emails are appearing on the other provider’s email account, you should be able to delete the Arriva account (neXband) from your email app and add your new account following the instructions for your app, but make sure you don’t delete your shiny new account where you moved your emails!

Choosing the Right Email Service

Gmail is the most popular email service in the U.S., compatible with both Apple and Android devices. Click here for a step-by-step guide to transferring from Arriva email to Gmail.

Microsoft Outlook is widely used by businesses, particularly those that rely on Microsoft Office products.

Both Gmail and Outlook can be used for personal or business purposes, and each allows you to use a custom business domain.

Key Considerations for Business Email

When selecting an email service for your business, consider the following factors:

Company Size & Budget – Free vs. paid options, subscription models, and storage limitations.

Software Integration – Compatibility with existing tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 vs. Google Workspace).

Features & Security – Storage capacity, security measures, and collaboration tools.

Scalability – Ability to grow with your business needs.

If your team already uses Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and Outlook may be the best choice. While Google offers alternatives like Google Docs (Word) and Google Sheets (Excel), Microsoft Office remains the most widely used for business collaboration. Microsoft 365 requires a subscription or one-time purchase, whereas Google’s suite is free but may have storage limitations, potentially leading to additional costs.

Device Compatibility

Consider which service best integrates with your current devices:

Apple Users may prefer Gmail for seamless syncing with iCloud and Apple apps.

Android Users often find Gmail to be the best option for deep integration with Google services.

Windows Users may benefit from Outlook, especially if they rely on Microsoft products.

Email address domains are not case sensitive, meaning that uppercase and lowercase letters are not treated differently. So, nexband.com and neXband.com are the same email address domain, and will be included in the turn down of Arriva’s services.
